I just had lap band surgery and I am wondering if Protein Water is okay even though it has sugar in it.

It should be fine, unless you are diabetic or have other glucose intolerance. If so, check with your doctor.

I tried them during my liquid phase but could not stand the taste. The brand I used was Special K.

I couldn't drink them as they contained too many carbs. I am restricted to 30 gms a day.

My doctor said they were fine. But I used (and still do), Isopure carb free. No sugar, no carbs. 160 cal and 40 g Protein per bottle. A little spendy, but when you need the protein it is worth it. I like Icey Orange - in the freezer for about 90 min - open it up and it turns slushy. Although sometimes since my 3rd fill I can't do slushy. I usually only use it now after my elliptical.

they should be OK, but try to look for lower sugar.
