Why does it take so long to eat?

I'm preband and I don't get it....why will it take me so long to eat everything?

For me it's because food will get stuck if I don't.

Because you will be chewing the heck out of your food instead of swallowing it as quickly as we tend to do pre-band. Your bites will be smaller and if you don't make your bites smaller you will ultimately pay for that with quite a bit of pain as things get stuck.

You have to eat really really slowly and small bites with the band or you will vomit. PB

I'd also say that the biggest benefit for me and why the band has worked is that I take much longer to eat, so that I have time for my stomach to actually tell my head its full, rather than shoving it all in at the speed of lightening and not even tasting it routine I had before.

You'll find you enjoy your food MORE this way.
