dangela45 0 Posted March 25, 2009 I will always start every post with this message: I love you Dr. Fiallo! I have Tufts and had my surgery 7/31/2008. Going through the "I Can Change" program was a pain. The calls from the nurse (Danielle) were annoying and aggrevating at times. She was very nice but it was the whole point of the call that was bothersome. Many times I felt like I should lie to the woman so that Tufts wouldn't fail me out of the program and the surgery. One day I had had enough and said so to Danielle.... and shockingly she told me that my failures were fine. Tufts just wanted a history to show that I was being counseled about how to live a new life. Once the program was completed things moved quickly. It was 2 months or less later that I was in for surgery. I have never heard word one from Tufts regarding a denial or bill or ANYTHING! Since I first walked into Dr. Fiallo's office I have lost 118 lbs and could not be happier.

I am up to 8 cc's so far and still don't have alot of restriction. So many other people I know have had ALOT of restriction with just 4 cc's. Congratulations!! KarissaLynn 0 Posted June 20, 2009 I have Tufts Navigator from EMC and I am so afraid that they will turn me down. Is Tufts the one that requires that 6-month program? Or is it the surgeons? I'm brand new to this whole thing, so I need all the info I can get (esp about the insurance company!)

But once they approve it - it's a very quick turn around. They alson cover the first 90 days of post-op appointments so try to get at least 2 or 3 fills with-in that time since they are free. I was able to do 3 since I didn't have alot of restriction.
KarissaLynn 0 Posted June 21, 2009 I hate the idea of waiting another 6+ months! Plus my doctor is on leave for a while, so I won't be able to talk with her until August! I was planning to change doctors at some point here...would this process work with a new doctor? Or should I just wait until mine is back?
LSF 264 Posted June 30, 2009 Start the process with Tufts - it won't matter about the doctor. Once you get the letter from Tufts - that's when the 6 month program starts.
