How Often Being Filled?

Recommended Posts

I know that everybody is different, but how often (approximately) do you get filled. Like I said, I know everybody is different but it's good to know if your close to what everyone else is!

I have been going 1 time a month.

I've been going every two weeks with 1 cc's at each visit (first fill was 2 cc's) as I get closer to good restriction, we'll decide if I can go longer between fills and if we should lessen the amount of fill at each visit.

so far, I've had five fills and I'm at about 6 cc's in a 10cc band.

Last fill was yesterday, still trying to figure out if this one got me to my first level of restriction.

I just came back from my 2nd Dr visit since surgery on Dec 20.

So far I have lost 29 pounds. He recommended waiting for 2 more months for a fill, since I am losing sucessfully. He will do a fill sooner, if my weight loss decreases or my hunger increases. Seemed resonable to me.

Had to wait 6 weeks for the 1st, then 4 weeks, then 4 weeks again. Now if I need another it will be 4 weeks. Our clinic wants to see us every 4 weeks regardless. I think that's an excellent idea.

I had my 1st fill 4 weeks after surgery on 2/13. Now I am going every 2 weeks until I hit my sweet spot.

I can go once every ten days if I need to but it is getting hard to get appointments at my doctors because they have had such an increase in bands. They are in the process of hiring someone else to do them, but in the meantime it takes about 3 weeks to get in for me.

I had my first fill of 2 cc 12 weeks after surgery. Not sure if I have hit my "Sweet Spot" not sure what that is. I do feel restrictions. I have not had good weight loss for the last month.

This is exactly my schedule as well. I had 1cc at surgery, 3ccs at the first fill, 2 ccs at the second fill, and 1cc at the third, leaving me currently at 7ccs in a 10cc-band.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
