cmacinga 0 Posted February 7, 2008 Hi Everyone: I am struggling with this lap-band. I am yo-yoing back and forth and can't get past the 35 pound mark. I drop to 194 then back up to 202. My problem, I think, is when I get filled, I am on liquids for 2-4 weeks, that's clear, to full liquids just like after surgery. While on that timeframe, I can lose 15 pounds no problem, cause I'm not eating. As soon as I start taking in solids, I gain. Please help! I am 9 cc filled. Last fill was one week before Thanksgiving 2007. We are nearing our one year anniversary mark, and I am no where close to goal! Thanks, Carol
Nettie 1 Posted February 13, 2008 I'm sorry to hear that your not moving as fast as you would like with your weight loss. I too am discouraged with slow weight loss. I was just banded in Oct. 2007 and have lost 32 pounds but I am only loosing about 4-5 pounds a month now. I really expected to loose more quickly. The one thing I try to keep in mind... Without this band I wouldn't have lost 32 pounds, I probably would have gained more weight. So I'm happy with what I've lost and you should be to. 35 pounds is a lot of weight. I wish you all the luck in the world on your journey! Hope you get the weight off.
agchick96 0 Posted February 18, 2008 Hi Everyone, I was banded May 31, 2007. 3 weeks ago I had "officially lost" 45 lbs. But due to being really sick I had to have my band let out. I'm less restricted than I was at about 3 mos post op. I while I seem to be able to eat what I couldn't eat when filled, I do notice that my stomach has shrunk some. I go back this week and get a fill and am looking so forward to it. But I feel that I am losing it very slow when I do lose. Like in the 3 mos time prior to my last fill I had only lost 10 lbs. I'm hoping that when I'm back to where I was fill-wise I am able to be more careful about what I eat and more motivated about exercise.
