Hello!

My name is Lisa and I had the lapband on 1-18-08. I started walking on Monday and I don't know if I over did it but my largest incision is hurting and it's very red like it's irretated. I called the office today and they told me if there is no puss than it doesn't sound infected.......I'm very concered. They also said that I'm still in the healing process and it could be my stitches inside. Has anyone experienced this?

Hi, I live in South Carolina. I was banded a week ago today and I'm SO glad that I did this!!! Yesterday I was able to go up and down steps easily like normal people, not take one step at a time like an old person. I haven't done that in years! I do have the desire for solid food and I have to say I've cheated just a tiny tiny tad (thank goodness no ill effects). What is killing me the most is the staples. I'm getting them out on Friday. Thank goodness because they are killing me!

I would love to talk to anyone who has been banded also. I have no one to really ask things here so please feel free to contact me anytime.

Lisa

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
