Kristin1031 0 Posted February 8, 2008 It seems every time I go out to eat now I always get asked questions like Was there somthing wrong with the food? Is everything OK etc... My husband and I even had a manager come over and ask if there was somthing wrong when the waitress notices I hadn't ate much. I have started saying I'm just not that hungry and I need a box. I guess it's better then them looking at me and thinking "I can't believe she ate that much! Anyone else with similar experiences? How have you handled it? I haven't had this problem because I ask them up front if I can order off the childrens menu, or share a plate with DH and I tell them why that I had bariatric surgery.....I have for the most part had positive results with this......!! losingjusme 12 Posted February 8, 2008 but what's on those children's menus? i know my DD's staple is fried chicken fingers and fries ... or macaroni and cheese. maybe instead of kids menu, try the Senior's if they have it??
Ellisa 6 Posted February 8, 2008 Some restaurants will allow 1/2 portions, if you request them. But even 1/2 portions gives me an extra meal to take home most of the time.
Leslie P 0 Posted February 8, 2008 Usually I ask for a take out box as soon as the waitress brings my food. That way there really are no questions. If someone does ask, I say "I had surgery and can't eat very much". Everyone I know knows about my surgery. They are always amazed at how little I eat. I guess after 2 years, I am just used to the questions. Try not to get too stressed about it. Rejoice in the fact that you are losing weight, no matter how it is accomplished.
