ugagirl 0 Posted February 4, 2008 Am I the only one picking up on some judgemental tones from Oprah and the doctor? I want to think it's stemming from the fact that these are teens they are highlighting.
chocolate_snaps 3 Posted February 4, 2008 As much as I love Oprah, she is a real jerk when it comes to WLS.

bigbaby 4 Posted February 4, 2008 I didn't think that Oprah was judgemental. I thought that she was asking questions. I thought that the teen-agers were so well-spoken that she couldn't be judgemental. Kudos to those teenagers and their parents Dr. Oz was the one who came across as strong
bigbaby 4 Posted February 5, 2008 I noticed that the audience didn't clap when the WLS teenagers told how much weight they loss, however they applauded when the teenager who lost weight through diet and exercise.....intersting....mmmm
losingjusme 12 Posted February 5, 2008 well bigbaby the wls patients took 'the easy way out' dontcha know HUGE EYE ROLL my respect for Dr Oz has gone down based on this show. you'd think he'd be supportive of a way to get healthy..
*JASMINE* 1 Posted February 5, 2008 Yeah, she came across very judgemental. I wonder if maybe she might be resentful of the fact that she has been fighting with her own weight issues and for some reason, WLS isn't an option for her. I know she can afford it, but maybe there are other things which have kept her from exploring this option. I was very turned off by her show today.
georgia girl 35 Posted February 5, 2008 I recorded the show and just now finished watching it. I agree, Dr. Oz's comments were very disappointing. I don't think Oprah was being judgemental, it almost seemed like she really didn't care one way or the other. I just wasn't feelin it today, Idk, maybe she was just having an off day! Oh, and I also noticed the audience seemed a lot more supportive of the girl who lost weight without WLS.
skyeblu79 0 Posted February 5, 2008 I just got finished watching the show. I already knew Oprah's feeling on WLS from previous shows. I don't even know why she does the shows. She wasn't as bad as she's been on previous shows, but none the less she still seemed judgemental as usual. Dr. Oz shouldn't have even been up there. I really saw him in a different light. I won't be buying any more books. He's not an expert on WLS surgery. A lot of the things he was saying didn't even apply to the LB. I think all the kids have done really good and I wished that I could have done it at their ages.
