I know it is normal to not feel any restriction

Recommended Posts

with the first fill but I really wish I was one of those people that felt *something*. I am losing because of I am dieting, not because of restriction. I am worried that because I am losing weight they wont believe that I do not feel restriction. I can only go so long eating 800-1200 calories a day feeling hungry. I had my first fill on Wednesday and today was my first day of had food. I stop eating when I no longer feel hungry but before I am full. I was told my second fill would be 2-4 weeks after the first. I tis going to bea LONG 2 weeks.

I can totally sympathize with you! I had an unfill in Dec and just got my second fill ... going back up. Like you, I've been almost 2 months "white knuckling" it just going on willpower!!! It sucks! I just got my second fill up to 2.3 on Monday and it really didn't help. I, too, and counting the days (10) until I can go back for another fill. In fact, today, I just ate...said screw it... and even tho I didn't work toward my dieting goal, I just ate. Tomorrow will be another day! Like you, I've lost weight, but I'm going to be easier on myself until I get up to a fill where I feel restriction. I think you are doing great and just have to cut yourself some slack until you get filled up. 800-1200 is virtually impossible longterm when you don't have no restriction. I exercise 1 hour of cardio a day to burn about 800 cals so I can actually eat closer to 1600 a day. It makes it a lot easier. Be kind to yourself and count the days until your third fill!!! Go back in the 2 week timeframe, in my opinion!

Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
