This is pretty local for me, as shocked as I was to first hear it, it ends up he was just trying to prove a point (which evades me now). He had no intentions of it actually passing (no kiddin?).

Just a slap in the face along with everything else. Society has no tolerance for teh fat.

So...what do you do with a fat person who comes to a restaurant and orders a salad?

Can a restaurant be sued by the obese if they contribute to the weight of a fat person?

Will this apply to people who can only get food by having it served to them....like a dining room of a nursing home? Will they simply be starved to death?

Why don't we just kill all the obese people and feed them to all the starving people in the world, solving 2 problems at once.

Should grocery stores be included in this ban? No food period for obese folks?

What about feding transfats to skinny people? Shouldn 't that be outlawed too? How about banning twinkies in general...oh, wait. They have a lobby.

Too ridiculous.

Yeah, they'll have to weigh and measure you at the door? And check ID, because quote: ".....2/3 of Mississippians are obese..." so does that mean only residents of the state? And what about fake ID's???!! I could go on and on, but I digress......

It will never get passed, but how much of the state's money are they waisting on this?

I think Mississippi should pass a law that everybody who does self-injurious things should be outlawed from the state. No smoking, no drinking, no overeating, no motorcycles, no risky sports, no driving cars (the cause of most accidents), no reacting to stresses in live. No sugar, no artificial sweeteners, and certainly no politicians!

How cool, BetsyJane. You have a pet deer!!

Again, even if this is a bill not expected to pass from the start, what a waste of taxpayers' money! Idiots.

I have two pet fallow deer named John Deer and Jane Doe. They grew up in our house with us, slept in bed with us, watched TV. The are so sweet and loving. They think they are dogs....the dogs taught them to bark.

Are they house trained? Do they bark or scratch at the door when they need to go pee?

That is so cute, and cool!

They were housebroken until they were about 6 months old because baby deer are so dependent on their Moms that they won't go to the bathroom until she tells them it's safe by licking their behinds to stimulate them to go. So we took them outside with a wet paper towel and rubbed their backsides and they went. Then we took them back in the house. At about 6 months, they decided they could go anywhere anytime, so they had to go live outside. But they still come in to visit, and they come when they are called and love hugs. They are fallows, so they are native to Europe, so we don't need a permit to keep them. And they are such wonderful animals!

A long time ago, I was in a discussion with an overweight nurse and a physician who smoked. The nurse was really pushing hard trying to get the doctor to stop smoking. In response, he started to light up in the hospital, where no smoking was allowed. She went nuts. He said "Next they'll come for the fat people."

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
