a2m2p4 0 Posted February 2, 2008 My mom has been up and around and drinking. She says she feels like she has been punched in the stomach and is not sure if it's the gas that is making her feel ill. I told her that I read on here that some people would take gas x strips and would feel better. Is this something that we should check with our surgeon first (I would like to know as well so I can have them before the surgery) or is it safe to say you can take them? I also just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their responses. I was real worried about her for the first few days. She is sounding better and I am going to see her today to check on her myself!! mashelltx 0 Posted February 2, 2008 Hi Sunshine...I'm new to this site. I had surgery on 1/30 and I keep thinking I must be a big baby because I'm still in pain! Everyone I talked to before surgery told me how they barely had pain. I have major burning around my main incision in the middle, did you have that?
kacee 3 Posted February 2, 2008 Gas-X and a heating pad both help....as well as WALKING. This is one of those times when you HAVE to get up and move around and HAVE to drink. The result of NOT doing that is that you will spiral downhill fast, feeling queasy, weak, shakey, as your electrolytes get out of whack. No moving around will cause the gas to not be able to loosen.
