swanssl 0 Posted January 29, 2008 I am two weeks out and lost 13 pounds in 10 days and now all the sudden I have gained 2.5 pounds....has this happened to anyone else? I am still eating blended foods. It is so discouraging when you arehardly eating anything and you see a gain of any kind. HELP....scared this lap band surgery wont work for me....:rolleyes2: Thanks! alicat3924 0 Posted January 29, 2008 Yes...I lost almost 70...gained back 15...now I am back on track, I found my sweetspot and will lose it again I am sure. There will always be ups and downs but the downs with the band far outway them without it.
snowbird 2 Posted January 29, 2008 Very common to gain a couple pounds once you get off the liquid diet or go back to eating more a couple weeks after surgery. Look at the thread about How the LapBand Works under the Fills forum to see what is happening to your body. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f13/how-lap-band-actually-works-fills-refills-41738/

Yep, look at many of my older posts... I lost 12 pounds and gained upto 3 pounds. I then played yoyo with those pounds for about 3 weeks then it was gone and has stayed gone. Just be patient and stay the course. You won't regret it!
swanssl 0 Posted January 29, 2008 thanks for that....I feel better that someone else lost and then gained.....
make33 2 Posted January 30, 2008 There's nothing more demeaning than having to change your Ticker UPWARDS!! I wish I had a nickel for every time I've had to change mine back upward! Gr-r-r-r-r-r! :rolleyes2:
Daisalana 33 Posted January 30, 2008 I refuse to change my ticker when I bounce up 1-3lbs. Somehow I always bounce back down to ticker weight in 1-2 days. I refuse to get discouraged hah!

Unless I'm truly gaining I am not moving my ticker upward. I know that those fluctuations are only temporary because I am staying the course and eating well and exercising. juliegeraci 7 Posted January 30, 2008 This is quite common. Lose, gain. When you start getting fills it will help.

AudricIan 0 Posted January 30, 2008 I keep bouncing the same 3 lbs back and forth. I am okay during the week as I am on the computer all day working. I am sure to always have my bottle of Water next to me and I drink it all day long (usually a minimun of 4 bottles a day). Then the weekends come and I am house cleaning, shopping and chasing my little boys around. I don't drink enough water during the weekend and on Monday I am up 3 lbs! By Wednesday I am back down 3 lbs. I just can't get below the 170 mark. My body seems to love 171.4! I have only had one fill and I am running on will power. Hopefully it will get easier with my next fill. I can't wait to see 169!!!! It sounds like this is normal so I am not concerned, the weight will come off. Slow weight loss is better than rapid weight loss. I am trying to avoid a TT anyway. Good luck to all!
