Hi Skinny, me too. I have had 2 fills and can eat a cow if I allowed myself. Hungry at night still. I have the large 14cc band and they say it takes several fills. The thing is I am too eating less, not snacking or anything so I don't see how more restriction is the answer. I go to the gym 3x a week too. My nutritionist said to boosts metabolism, add 3 servings of dairy a day. This worked once for me and I lost 3 lbs, now I am at a stand still again. I see doctor on 2/5 and will ask what else is there to do, eating right and exercising? So why no weight loss. If I get answers, I'll let you know. Some are saying too little calories can be the answer too. I eat between 1,000 to 1,200 a day. I was thinking of upping it to 1,400 and see what happens, but afraid I will gain. Others who have had surgery same time as me, have lost 35-40 lbs, me 26 in almost 4 months. Try the dairy thing, see if it helps. Hope things go on a downward slide for you soon too.

I've had three fills and still do not have good restriction. Next fill is Weds. and I'm hoping this one will get me to the first level of restriction.

I try to confuse my body with changing up the amount of calories. If the scale doesn't move, I'll do one or two days of 800 calories and then follow it with 1100 to 1200 calories per day. Are you tracking your Protein? And getting in your Water? I try to be careful to do both when the scale is stalled!

Waiting for restriction is the HARDEST part of being banded!

Hi everyone,

I have also had my surgery in 10/07. Everyone is saying that they are not losing, but we have all lost almost 30 pounds. Remember we are supposed to be losing between 5-10 pounds a month. We are all on schedule. I have learned to stop comparing my weight loss with everyone elses. Those of us that have lost almost 30 pounds are all around the same weight. I started out 257. I have noticed those that have lost 30-40 pounds were at least 280 and above. Go back and look at those that have lost 30-40 pounds.....

We are losing, and a year from now we'll be happy with our success.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
