Very Upset

Recommended Posts

Maybe this isn't exactly the right time to post this, I am extremely upset right now. I think this whole day has been nothing but finger pointing and arguments all day.

Take a look at the board today, most of the time these boards are full of people laughing, asking questions, and seeking support. They are almost empty today, and that is a shame. This board is for the support/questions and friendship.

I for one think we have had enough of the finger pointing and arguments. I think we need to put an end to this right now. I certainly don't want to come here any more if all I am going to read is negative things.

Everyone has had their say, now let's get back to the regular business at hand.

If you want to be mad at somebody, then be it, but keep it to yourself!

Sorry, I just couldn't take anymore of this.

Betty, I hear you. Just hang on though and this too shall pass. Actually, it's the first negativity I've seen at all and I've been here since the very beginning. That must be some kind of record!! :)

Hey, I'm the one that got yelled at by Donali! But I don't let it get to me. Some days it's fun to come here, other days there's lots of disagreements. I'm pretty miffed myself about certain LBT issues, but we always come back and laugh in the end, right? Hubby mentioned a full moon, could it be?

Wow Betty I am not sure what has been happening ( & truely don't want to know) but if you need to vent girl- why- you just go right ahead and vent. we all need to let steam off once in awhile & its very good to do so. Never keep stuff buried inside it only eats away.

AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHA!

Feels good to yell at the top of your lungs. AHHHHHAHHHHHHHHHHHHAHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again I have no clue whats going on but I thought it was fun shouting along with you!!!

Hi Betty,

Life wouldn't be the same without you girl... I think people get entirely too sensitive here sometimes. I just try to take things with a grain of salt and be as uplifting as I can. Hope your day improves Betty. Teresa

((((HUGS))))) Betty... now... group (((((HUG)))))).... :)

Betty... I think you are absolutely right... I refer people to this forum constantly because it is such a wonderful... kind and supportive site. When I first started this journey... I went to another site where there was a huge flame war going on and I immediately kept on searching for another place for support and information. I always twinge when controversy erupts for fear that the board is becoming like the "others"... BUT.... it always returns to being the happy supportive place that I've come to love so much. :)

When I was still researching the band I saw the yahoo boards and they were all bickering and putting each other down. That was one reason I chose this sight but I also love the fact that you don't have to deal with advertizing here, you can read all the responses without it being a hunting game and waiting for it to load ect. This sight just has a much nicer, easier layout. I also like the fact we can put pics for our avatars here. Yahoo just had NO warmth, ease or personality. So what if a few people bicker once in awhile. Jeez, my family actually enjoys bickering. I've seen people get their feelings bruised over pretty minor comments or snap back over the same reason. There are a LOT of people on this forum now and some disagreement is bound to be expected. Overall I think we definitely accomplish our goal of supporting each other and educating others. If someone is blatantly mean than that should be looked at but people need to understand that we all have different experiences regarding particular doctors and they may not all be rosey. Everyone has the right to share their experience. I don't know what other bickering your talking about Betty. I have days I don't post but it isn't because of any of the attitudes on here. Its because I work, am taking classes, have a household to run and take care of and just get busy. Some evenings I finally get the chance to get on here but am too bushed to want to. I also have evenings that my favorite shows are on. Its nothing personal and I'm sure other people are experiencing the same life juggle. I'll often just check in here to see whats going on but don't have time to post much too. Anyway, things will settle down I'm sure. Thanks for the sweet pm too. Best wishes, Teresa

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
