Those banded on 25th-what is your food schedule?

Recommended Posts

Hey, just wondering what everyone's progression through the phases is. Here is what mine will be like

2-3days post op- Clear Liquids

4days to a week post op until week 4-move to pureed foods, anything that can fit through a straw

After week 4 soft/solid foods

I'm kind of getting tired of crystal lite, Isopure and broth, so the change will be welcome.

Hi there! I was banded on the 25th and had only clear liquids day 1 and 2. Now on "phase 2" = Protein Shakes, broth, diet Jello for the next week. See the Dr. in one week and probably move on to mushies. Quite frankly, I am having a hard time even getting in 4 ounces of Protein Shake. Had a little chicken broth just before and it really filled me up. I would imagine that this will get real old as the week goes by and I feel better!

You guys are lucky... My doctor is very conservative and strict on his pre and post op diets. He nearly had a coronary when I told him that I had some tuna and spinach a week before my surgery date so I wouldn't pass out.

My post op diet is 2 freaking weeks of clear liquids, then 2 weeks of full liquids, then mushies for I'm not sure how long.

I am going c-r-a-z-y on this clear liquid diet. I have been feeling great since about 5 days post op and my stomach has been growling since about 6 or 7 days post op. It seems a bit too long but keep thinking about how yuuummmmmyyyy those Protein shakes will be at the end of the week, and will probably start it a day or two early. It will probably be a LONG time before I decide to indulge in some chicken broth :-)

I am now on Soups for lunch and a soft dinner. I had a little fish and a little rice the past two days and have been fine. I also have a 1/2 cup of Fiber one in the morning with some skim plus.. So far so good. I'm eating a 1/4 of what i did before at each meal and i'm happy. I enjoy what i have but then i'm full.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
