Hi! i had my surgery just 3 days ago in juarez Mexico and i must say it was one of the nicest hospitals i have ever been to! it really is state of the art! i had Dr. Rodriguez and he is one hell of a nice doctor! i was treated excellent while i was there and had no worries about the surgery afterwards even though going in i was scared!

it has only been three days since my surgery and i am feeling great my left side is still a little sore from the port placement but other then that i am back to doing almost everything i was before the surgery! i cant believe how little pain was actually involved in the whole procedure! if anyone happens to be going to juarez mexico for their surgery please tell the nurses up there misty tuck said hello! especially hector, jesus, and rosa those 3 were the greatest and i got to personally know them from just the 2 days i was there! i wish all of you the best of luck on your lapbands as i have already lost about 4 pounds in the last 3 days from the surgery and im very excited about whats to come!:cursing:

As of the end of this month, a passport will be required for entry back into the states

not true!!! they will not start the passports until the summer of 08 so all is good until then! they had plans on making it for the end of jan 08 but it has been pushed back once again! just a drivers license and birth certificate is required right now!

LAND AND SEA TRAVEL

The following summarizes information available on the Department of Homeland Security’s website.

  • JANUARY 31, 2008
U.S. and Canadian citizens will need to present either a WHTI-compliant document, or a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, plus proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate. DHS also proposes to begin alternative procedures for U.S. and Canadian children at that time.
  • LATER
At a later date, to be determined, the departments will implement the full requirements of the land and sea phase of WHTI. The proposed rules require most U.S. citizens entering the United States at sea or land ports of entry to have either a U.S. passport; a U.S. passport card; a trusted traveler card such as NEXUS, FAST, or SENTRI; a valid Merchant Mariner Document (MMD) when traveling in conjunction with official maritime business; or a valid U.S. Military identification card when traveling on official orders.

Note: The passport requirement does NOT apply to U.S. citizens traveling to or returning directly from a U.S. territory.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
