cakegal 0 Posted January 25, 2008 Has anyone argued or apealed to reduce 6 mo. required diet and won? My psyc. doc and pcp both said I was an excellant candidate and should call my insurance company and talk them out of a 6 mo. required diet (I've already finished 2 mo.) I've done every other requirement so my psyc. doc says I should just start calling my insurance company and bugging them about it. Anyone ever do this and be successful? Any suggestions? Joaquin 0 Posted January 25, 2008 I really don't think that they will reduce it. Just take advantage of the time and prepare yourself for a new beginning. I really hated having to do it also but in the long run I think that it was a good thing.
faithmd 14 Posted January 25, 2008 If your insurance company has a written policy for a six month diet requirement, then you're stuck. We'd all love to get it sooner than what our insurance wants us to. But when you use insurance to pay, you are bound by their rules. I was stuck with a TWELVE month diet requirement. Dang, that sucked! A word of caution, please make sure you do not miss a single monthly appointment to your MD (or whatever your diet requirement states). It would stink to be almost there and have to start all over again. Good luck!!!!
