Dr. John Bagnato - Bagnato Bandits

Recommended Posts

Girls, I wish I could have met you but my hubby was a work and I didn't have anyone to keep my son. Maybe next time!

We are leaving on Monday and going to the beach until Sunday. I'm really excited to get to vacation for a whole week! My sister's getting married on Saturday, so we decided to make a week of it. I probably won't be posting much next week. I'll check in from time to time on my hubby's IPhone, but probably not much. It's gonna be weird not being on here, I think I'm addicted, lol!

Leslie - congrats on scheduling your surgery! I know you are nervous, but eveyone is right...it is easy to recover.

Pamela - have a great vacation

Quick question - can we take motrin? It really wasn't mentioned by Dr. Bagnato and I was prescribed 800 mg today to take 3x a day. Long story short, my daughter kicked her leg back the same time I walked by and it bent my thumb all hte way back. Thought it was broken, but it is just really swollen and sprained. I have anti-inflammatories for a week adn a thumb splint for a week. Typing is FUN with this on, so excuse the typos. I had them swap the 800 mg horse pills for 400 mg ones. I've looked it up online and some say it is okay and some say not to take. Anyone know?

I called the office to ask what i could take for the occasional stitch in my side that I had post op. It was suggested that I take liquid tylenol. I know that some posts/people advise you to stay away from certain pain meds. I told her that I had most of my post op liquid Loritab that Dr. B prescribed me and she siad that i coudl take that if I wanted.

Your best bet is to just call Dr. B's office. I can see why they would not want you to some of the OTC pain meds cuz they worry that it will irritate yout stomach or in worse case scenarios cause ulceration if taken in ridiculous excess or something. However i do remember them saying that i can take liquid tylenol.

Again, i recommend calling Dr. B's office. he may be able to prescribe you soemthing otc (over the counter). Doctors also have the ability to get meds compunded (i.e. if there is a med that you want and otc sells in in these big horse tabs, they may have a pharmacy that will make it into a liquid for you).

good luck. And when you find out, please post. I am sure that someone else may have this question later on.

Thanks, Brina. I called and talked to Missy (I think) and she said it was okay...that I may want to take Galvesgon (sp?) to coat my stomach if it bothered me, but with no fill and no restriction, I'd be fine.

Congrats on having your dates! I know how excited you are!

I also booked something pretty exciting - our family's Disney World vacation for Christmas! I've been in the spring, summer, fall, and just prior to Christmas but have always wanted to go for the actual holidays. Well, we booked it yesterday and the good Lord willing, we'll be there! I'm excited to go and hopefully be a good bit smaller than I was on our trip last November!

Congrats, Allykat!! That's soooo exciting! I've always wanted to do that as well, but I just can't seem to leave all my family behind. Maybe when my son is older we could do something like that.

Well, we are at the beach and having a wonderful time. It's kinda nice to not worry about the scales and food for a while. I'll probably regret it when I get home and weigh, but I'm having sooo much fun. Even though it's really cold here right now, it's sooo beautiful! We are right on the ocean and yesterday, when the sun was setting, it was soooo pretty here. I don't know when I'll be posting again, but you all have a great week and I hope to talk to ya'll soon!

I have a date! My surgery has been scheduled for April 10th - Which is a Thursday. I pretty much "sit" all day at work - so I am planning on being back the following Monday. I'm excited but scared too!

Hello Leslie:

I am very happy for you. I so can understand your fear an excitement. You will do fine. Everyone who read any of my posts knows how much of a chicken i was prior to this surgery. After all of crying (the crying when teh IV was placed, the crying while being wheeled to the pre-op room in the hospitial, the crying in the pre-op room in the hospital. The complete new tidal wave of Oprah Winfrey crying mingled with hiccupping tears that occurred when Dr. B patted me on the shoulder? leg? in the pre-op room and told me that i would okay.), i still think that this has been one of the best decisions that i have made for myself.

Girrrl, now I look back at this and laugh. i look at my former posts and laugh at how much of a chicken I was about thsi whole thing. I see why they put me on a liquid diet the first week out of surgery...it was to replace the fluids that i had lost from crying so damn much.

Sigh.

You will do fine. Stock up on your post op fluids, get a giant body pillow and a heating pad to keep yourself comfortable, and heal.

Then post in a few days telling us how much you are hating your clear Fluid diet and how your entire kitchen is trying to seduce you:biggrin:.

So I have 5.5 cc's in my 10cc band and ZERO restriction. I mean zilch, none, nada. My next fill wasn't until 04-22 so I called Malik today and luckily someone had cancelled on 04-03 so she is squeezing me in but did tell me I'd have to wait- but I don't care. I am not losing and I am hungry all the time. I just surely would've thought that with half of my band filled I would have more restriction than I do. It is frustrating to see ppl with less in their band than me- steadily losing. /End Rant- Sorry to be a downer guys, just needed to get that off my chest- I had so hoped to be down to 300 by my honeymoon and now I don't think I will make it. I hope this next fill will kickstart my losing. It is so frustrating to work out for 30 minutes a day- and eat healthy and NOTHING happen- As bad as I had not wanted to cut out carbs completely, I think that is the only way I'm going to get past this plateau. I just keep wishing that I could eat like normal, only LESS and lose. To ppl further out than me- is that even possible? I still want to be able to eat the occasional 'no no' food and eat less and still be okay. Am I kidding myself?

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
