toilet woes (not gross, i promise)

Recommended Posts

hey there. haven't been banded yet, so i'm at my heaviest right now.. anyone experience a toilet, erm.. sounding like it's cracking when you sit on it? i know this is a weird question.. but i'm at work and my regular loo that i use every day just started making this sound when i was on it ! it sounds like it's gonna come off the wall! is this possible? can i really make a toilet come off the wall? it's the industrial kind with nothing underneath, only attached to the wall.. what are the weight limits on those puppies?

sorry for the strange question, but now i'm afraid to pee!!!!!!

Don't want to scare you but I have heard of those things ripping off the walls before. When I worked for a doctor we had someone who was about 400 lbs break our hanging toilet. My suggestion...to be on the safe side use another stall.

Good luck on your banding journey.

I noticed at the bariatric clinic I go to, they have supports under all the toilets. Smart move . Maybe they had some break. What an embarassing situation if one broke while you were on it. I supose Water would squirt all over. I think you should use another or if you are really brave, maybe talk to the maintenence people about it.

That pot is going to break off the wall. I'd let someone know.

If not on you it will break on someone else and that's not good.

OMG! Someone other than ME says "Loo"???? Thats amazing!! People usually make fun of me when I say it!!

And yeah, don't ever use that Loo again!

I have broken a few toilet seats in my day... but yeah.

i talked to our HR person (the most un-fun convo i've had in years) and she was VERY sympathetic. she told me what other floors had "nice bathrooms" in our building to use until ours gets fixed. turns out they recently had that loo replaced. i feel better, but i'm still afraid to pee at work!!!!

:lol:Skinny guy in our office sat on the bowl in the Mens room and broke it. I am guessing it was already going in that direction and he was the lucky guy to do it.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
