You guys are so lucky. Wish I could be going with you but Suzie Doesn't fly and it would be to long of a drive to do by myself. I think it's a 14 hour drive. I was kinda hoping for Tunica. That would have been about a 7-8 hour drive and would have put me thru St. Louis where I could have picked up a couple of Hitch Hiking Violets. Well, maybe next year you'll pick a place closer. Besides that will give me more time to lose more weight and look not so frightning in a bathing suit. Can't wait to see all the pics. Someone needs to come up with a website to post them so the whole world won't see.

You guys have fun and think of me while your floating.

Suzanne---we are drugging Jen, and Laura to get them to fly----c'mon!!! Believe me, I am going to have so many people laughing at me in a swimming suit, you have no chance of scaring any of them!!!! Would LOVE for you to join us in the fun!!!

While I would love to do as you ask and think of you while floating---I think I will be concentrating on staying right side up!!!

Keep thinking about it.....

Kat

FLIGHTS

Make sure you check for price breaks flying into Houston rather than San Antonio. If you can get to Houston by noon or so, one of us can lag behind and pick up an IAH crew. (Michelle is finding that her costs are much less flying into Houston, for example)

TracyK can even pick up from Houston Hobby which is where Southwest flies into.

Keep in mind that traffic on a Friday afternoon starts getting real heavy with folks trying to get out of town, etc....so getting here before noon would be extremely helpful. That would get you into Gruene by 4:00-5:00.

Kat - Gruene is 3 hours from Houston, but 4 hours from where Tracy lives. Haydee and I live closest to IAH; Tracy lives closest to Hobby Airport.

I just figure we'll be chatting at 100 miles an hour that those 3 hours would fly by! Especially if you'd have to connect thru IAH or Dallas anyway...the time you'd save wouldn't be that significant. Y'know?

Laura - darling... I have your connection.... I just got some .... but I have something else I'm going to take.... I'm putting them in the mail!!!!!!!!!!
That is illegal on about 20 different levels!!!:) LOL!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
