If Mark wins I'm sure he'll share the money with his brother anyway.. so, it's not like Jay won't get anything out of it. I think Mark should have went though.. oh well. I'm glad it's 2 men and 2 women though. The guys didn't take over like they had planned to.

Jay is finally gone. I said that he should have taken the $10,000 .Did they say that they won't have their trainers?

Yep, they have to do it on their own without trainers and they just also announced that america will decide who is next to be voted off for next week. Interesting!!

Oh the drama with those brothers!! Good grief! I've never seen men cry like that...what a turn off. I couldn't believe it when even his wife commented on it. I'd be so embarrassed if I were her.

I still want the girls to stay in the game! They are doing so good!

Cry baby Mark..what can we say? Sheesh! Maybe he has stock in Kleenex.

Someone needs to let Bob know the US is not a continent. North America is a continent. What a goober.

I think Mark should have went home. Jay has more to lose. I hope it does not end of like last year. One brother wins the $250,000 and the other wins the $100,000. Although, I liked the guys from last year and I was thrilled for them.

I am pulling for Ali or Kelly!!!!!

Will if America has to vote, then just maybe Ali or Kelly will have a chance.

I don't care for Kelly, I do like Ali, I even like Roger. Mark use to be my favorite, but I think he cries too much, but then ALL the men cry too much. Now mind you I don't see a thing with a man crying, I just don't want to see it that often. LOL

LOL - My daughter looked at me with a look that said, "Huh?" I said, "He's talking about America, the COUNTRY."

I really hope that both of the girls can be in the finals. I hope it's Kelly, Ali, and Mark. I don't want Roger to win. The girls will have a better chance if Mark goes to the finals.

OMG, the bawling brothers were ridiculous last night. They need to quit their day jobs and go join Alison Sweeney on Days of our Lives, they would fit right in, lol.

I just watched this last night and I have got to agree! Their whining is driving me up a wall. And the yoga for a last chance workout while the girls were getting their @$$'s kicked on the beach??? Now I know yoga is tough, but for a last chance workout? It almost seemed like Bob wanted one of the guys to go home. Almost rigged it seemed.

I loved the challenge though....and that Kelly wasn't last for most of it. I really relate with her. I would have keeled over after the swimming let alone the stairs! It had to feel good to know that you were ahead of Roger for almost all of it.

And it really seemed like a better show without the brotherhood of the blue team. It was more like a group who really wanted everyone to succeed. They were more like a family like we have here in a lot of ways.

I want to see Kelly, Ali, and Mark in the finals. Roger just seems too arrogant to me. Maybe it's the football player in him, but he doesn't seem real in a lot of ways.....but that's just MHO

I didn't watch the whole show. I have it recorded though. I caught the very end, and I could not believe those crying brothers. Good grief, on national tv-hold it together dudes!

I didn't hear the part about America voting next week. That is great and they have probably figured out that the only way a woman is going to win is to change the rules a bit.

None of the women come in weighing 400++ lbs so percentage wise they will never beat the guys but Ali is kicking butt. Good for her- I hope she wins. If the guys had the odds stacked against them like the girls, they'd be whining all the time and saying it wasn't fair.

What the heck is wrong with those 2 brothers? I'm a psychologist and I have never seen two men cry like that. Jeeze! they need some therapy or something.

Mark cannot win!! Pleeeeze!

Sometimes reading the posts here make me wonder if some people just weren't mentally ready for WLS and needed more time with the bariatric team psychiatrist. Complaining about the limited drink/food choices early on... blah..blah...blah. The living to eat mentality really needs to go and be replaced with eating to live. JS

We have to remember that everyone moves at their own pace. For some it may be harder to adjust, people may have other factors at play that feed into the unhealthy relationship with food e.g. eating disorders, trauma. I'd hope those who you are referring to address this outside of this forum, with a professional.

This is a place to feel safe to vent, seek advice, hopefully without judgement.

Compassion goes a long way :)

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.
