Nykee, that sounds more in line with the advice I am hearing from banded veterans here. The liquid/mushy stage is NOT about weight loss, it's about allowing your body the time to heal without eating things that require your stomach to churn alot...thus allowing your band to anchor properly witin your body. This helps prevent slippage down the road.

Tracie, I have heard of Drs passing out the same old gastric bypass meal plans to their Lap Band patients, and no, this is not a good practice. They are both very different procedures. Several on the board here see Dr Spivak in Houston, it doesn't seem like he would be one to pass out GP menus, but fish and soft veggies on day 4? Hmmm, if chewed REALLY well...I, personally would hesitate, even if my Dr said OK.

Your weight loss, however, is awesome! Well done! Good luck, girls! I can't wait to see the success you are having for myself, you are inspiring!
