i Am Due To Go To The Dr On Thursday

during Xmas I Could Not Eat Anything Without Pb And Vomiting

know It Is Better , Usually 1-2 Weeks After A Fill Is When I Feel The Difference. I Want To Hit My Sweet Spot Also. I Feel I Am Sabotaging My Progress.

i Stop Exercising And I Eat What I Want. I Wonder At Times Why Did I Pay For This And I Still Have To Eat A Certain Way. Too Many Calories , Not Enough Protein. Well I Guess I Will Make It

i Know I Have To Change Again. I Was Hoping Once I Hit My Seet Spot I Will Not Be Hungry Or Even Wanting To Eat. Help Young Bandster Out Of Control.

Wow I'm not alone. I currently have lost only 20LBS since my surgery May 25,2007. I'm very discouraged also. Since Octocber I have not been able to the way we should be able to. And very frustrated with foods also.I have ahd a total unfill now for 2 weeks and really afraid

of gaining weight back. I went to have to have the Barium swallow after the unfill and everything seems clear. My doctor seems has if my body is rejecting the band I have an appointment next week the 29th, But I with just 2.0 fill I wasn't able to eat only at night and certain things that are not good for you, except the Protein drinks. It's as though something I was drinking or eating was causing a blockage. My DR said no power drinks but I was doing Protein Shakes in the morning because your able to add fruit or whatever. I have not told him yet I was. And he states that can cause a blockage so I think I may be in trouble. Will let you know.I hope you are better WE CAN"T GIVE UP ! Sandra

Don't give up. Do something different to help you regain your focus. Lately I have been doing a food journal and it has really helped me make better choices. Are you getting enough support from your doc? You have undergone a serious lifestyle change and it's normal to backslide a bit. Take smaller steps to your goals (like getting through the day without between meal snacking or adding in a pleasurable activity like a craft to distract yourself from mindless eating, etc).

Good luck!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
