Heavy lifting in job! When to return?

Hi there! I am an EMT and I do lots of heavy lifting and 12 hour shifts. Should I go back to work at 2 weeks post-op or wait longer. I don't want to rush things and get hurt but I need to return as soon as I can. Any suggestions or opinions would be GREAT! Thanks:rolleyes:

I'm five weeks post-op and still feel the strain and pulling in my abs whenever I lift something over 10 pounds. I would suggest taking at least two weeks and then decide if you need more. No sense rushing it if you have the time to take off. If you rush it, you may spend more time recovering in the end. Good luck.

I was told 6 weeks until I could start lifting anything over 25 pounds. Even the laundry was out! Darn :tongue:!!
