Suggestion I never thought I'd ask for

Recommended Posts

Alex,

There are some Christians on LBT, and it would be nice if we had a place where we could talk freely about that without being questioned and/or attacked. Even when our faith isn't being attacked, whenever someone tries to start a new thread for Christian bandsters, people of other faiths and/or no faith, feel the need to point them in the direction of other Christian based threads, as if we're not welcome to talk about it except in certain threads.

So, my suggestion I guess is to have a sub-forum for Christian bandsters (and maybe for other faiths if there's any interest) where it's not up for debate, or argument.

Pretty please??

I would love a forum so we can have different threads

I saw another suggestion that wanted to do the different groups as well; the singles; gay/lesbian/transgendered; maybe the bikers group too? That's just some of the groups that I see have large areas that might want to have a forum!

some people really have some nerve! People who are offended because we profess Christianity in my opinion must feel unsure of their own beliefs. If not, then why does it bother them so badly? It shouldn't be any different than if I were to say, "I'm gay." Would you then want me to only post on the gay/lesbian forum? I'm tired of being bashed and criticized.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
