Found the best sweet tooth cure

Atkins Advantage chocolate Caramel and Fudge Brownie Protein Bars. 160 calories, 12g Protein, 17 carbs, 1g sugar, 9g Fiber, 230 mg potassium & lots of other Vitamins. They taste better than regular candy bars!! They qualify as "mushy" according to my nutritionist. What an awesome way to get protein & feel like you are eating candy bars without cheating! These are terrific!

Those are mushy? Really? I haven't had one, but I would've thought too much texture. I have a bad sweet tooth, so I'm into it if it's okay...

The ones from Herba Life are good too and kashi go lean. I'm glad they're considered mushies, because I pb'd yesterday and the day before. The first one due to a biscotti, my fault. The second one who knows it was moist chicken. So mushies for a few days now.

Wow, I wasn't allowed any of those things on mushies! My sheet from the Dr. listed cooked veggies, and things of that texture!

I did find as soon as I could move on to regular food, that the chips Ahoy 100 calorie packs, the Cookies are more like graham crackers, and mushed up well, and eased my sweet tooth!!!

Good Luck!

they are really mushy, they have no crunch to them at all, more like the texture of a milky way. My dr just said to smash them for the mushy stage & kinda suck them into the roof of your mouth to make sure they are really soft. I tried it & they do soften almost into a liquid chocolate when you take tiny bites & press them into the top of your mouth. They are so sweet & yummy!!

Wow! I really liked both my surgeon, as well as my fill Dr., but they gave me print outs, and never went into this kind of detail concerning different foods in my stages of diet. I was on a strict post op diet---2 weeks of Clear Liquids (broth, clear juices), another 2 weeks of full liquids (cream Soups etc, must fit through a straw, and require NO chewing for digestion), then 2 weeks of mushies---cooked veggies etc. things that would not reequire my stomach to work much to pass. Then I was allowed to begin adding things in, until I got to a normal diet. Those type of things were on my not allowed/not recommended list--but I believe they were on the list due to the artificial sweetners---and the side effects some of them cause!

Sounds like if your Dr. is going to spend enough time with you to suggest different ways of eating foods, that you found a Dr. with good patient rapport. Good for you!!! Like I say, I loved my surgeon, and I like my fill Dr. but they neither one went into that type of detail!!!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
