SueFromMichigan 1 Posted October 26, 2008 Justmeuknow - Facebook is a social networking website. You go to www.facebook.com and set up your own facebook page. It is useful for posting pictures for others to see and, if you can get enough of your friends and relatives on it, you can kinda keep up with what is going on in their lives. You can find old friends, etc. In my case, all of my six children or their spouses have Facebook pages, and 7 out of 8 grandchildren do, too. So when they say something about their status, it shows up on my "Home" page. If you want to try it, once you get your page set up you can look for Susan Crane in the Northern IN network. Phyllser is also on there - we are now Facebook friends. Doddie63 - thanks for asking about the fill. I did get a fill up to 8cc, but it was too much. I don't really want to be in pain after eating a couple egg beaters. So I went back and he took 1/2 cc out. I had not really stopped losing, just was feeling unsatisfied after eating 1-2 cups of food. We'll see how this works..... so far, so good. Just had 2 bowls (about 1.75 cups) of turkey chili and was satisfied.

skinnydippn42 0 Posted October 27, 2008 One more Oct. Bander here. Don Here, My Banding day is tomarrow (Oct. 28th.). Today is clear liquid day as well as four days after. Than 1 1/2 weeks of full liquids; than 2 weeks of pureed foods. It sure is strange how different Doc's do different things in this department. So I'm getting ready today for a few things that need to be done and be at the hospital at 5:30 AM on the 28th. Tomarrow WOW!!! Took me one year to get this far. I told my wife NINA, it's taking for every to get to this day and than BOOM , "it's here". Well here goes, try to write in a few days. Don PS: Good luck to everyone. __________________

lambgram 0 Posted October 28, 2008 Sorry I haven't been back here. I'm in Oak Forest, a southwest 'burb of Chicago. My surgery is Friday; 4 days and counting. I'm getting used to this full liquid diet. Nobody said anything about having to do Clear Liquids for a day or so. Maybe I should just do it to be on the safe side? Linda Oh, btw, I still can't figure out how to do the ticker thing.
JoannMarie 0 Posted October 28, 2008 Good luck to Don tomorrow! You have certainly had a long wait, but it will be worth it. Lambgram, good luck to you, too. I guess it can't hurt to do the clear liquids the day before your surgery. That is what is recommended by my doctor and the hospital in the instructions I received from them last week. As far as the ticker goes - I had no problem creating the ticker - but never was able to make it copy on my signature page. I sent a note to Alex (chk back on the home page) and he was kind enough to help me out. He was very nice. God bless both of you as you start your journeys... Ninaflowerlady 0 Posted October 29, 2008 Hello All, Yesterday I was so tired I just came home and went to bed. Don is home now. It looks like things are ok but it's still to soon to know for sure. He's had some trouble getting enough clear liquid "food" down because of nausea. Don says if he feels better he'll write tomorrow. He is feeling weak and has pain. He's pain medicine is liquid. His's Vitamins are liquid. We have questions about his medicines. I don't know if we can crush one of the meds that is kind of big. They don't want him to swallow large pills.< /span> Well, I just called the pharmacist. I just asked the pharmacist and he said it was ok to cut it in half. Don was moaning just now and I said "Are you in pain"? He said " No, I'm feeling uncomfortable. My body has been traumatized. After they were playing around with my innards for an hour that's why I feel this way." If he didn't have the pain medicine he'd be in pain for sure! It's good to have him home again. I sure would miss him if something should ever happen to him! I have spent very few nights being alone in my whole life. Thannks for your incouraging word. phyllser 3 Posted October 29, 2008 Good to hear from you, Nina! Glad everything went well and you are both back home now. Don will feel a little bit better each day. The nausea should go away soon. It takes time for the anesthetic to get completely out of our bodies. He's on the way to good health! Give him our love! He's been waiting so long for this and it's really exciting to hear that he's had his surgery!
Pati42 0 Posted October 30, 2008 Hi Phyllis, Going ok... have been losing inches.. now the pounds are starting to go down on the scales..that's always nice. I'm anxious to see what the doc says Thursday, as well. And to see if I need a fill or not. I'll let you know. Sorry about your internet,, what system are they putting in the park. Ninaflowerlady 0 Posted October 30, 2008 Thanks for your helpful words. I admire Don for going through with all this. He is at his PC right now of and on. Been sleeping a lot. He's had no trouble with that. Don still has the gas and feels bloated and uncomfortable. The bandages are making his skin turn red. It's not bothering him though. Tanks again you all for this forum!
