AspiringPhD 0 Posted January 20, 2008 My name is Cheryl and I reside in Charlotte NC. I have attended an information seminar at CMC-Mercy and have an appointment with a surgeon on this coming Wednesday. Before my appointment though, I am attending another seminar to talk with patients who have already had the surgery through the Bariatric Center at CMC-Mercy. I look forward to asking lots of questions of both previous patients and my surgeon and have typed my questions so I don't forget anything. I have talked about the surgery with my family and close friends and they are very supportive and loving. I am thankful to have them behind me on this journey. I am 5'3-1/2" tall and weight 292lbs. I have a BMI of about 52 right now and need to lose some weight since the limit for the Bariatric Center is 50. I am anxious to get the process started and find out I have been approved so I can set my surgery date. I am hoping to get everything done so I can have my surgery in May as a birthday present to myself. I look forward to reading your stories and keeping in touch during this life changing process. JaxBandster 11 Posted January 22, 2008 Dear Cheryl Congratulations on getting the process going! I know it seems a long time coming but the time will pass quickly and you will be on your way before you know it. Good luck!
AspiringPhD 0 Posted January 23, 2008 Dear Cheryl Congratulations on getting the process going! I know it seems a long time coming but the time will pass quickly and you will be on your way before you know it. Good luck! Karen, Thanks so much for your kind words. I had an appointment today with my surgeon and got the "list" of requirements for my insurance company. I have an appointment with a nutritionist on Valentine's Day already. I am extremely excited.
