What is sliming?

My oldest friend, like me, is a lapbander. I have my own issues but she complains of spitting up saliva after eating. Is this "sliming"? What causes it and can it be managed?

Although it's not an abbreviation, many people ask what is a SLIME. When food gets stuck, as in a PB, the body begins to produce saliva in mass quantities. Since it cannot be swallowed because of the lodged food in yoru stomach (not your airway). So the only option is to spit it out, which often produces a bubble effect. Amusing when spoken of later, but horrifying when it's happening - especially in public places!

Take smaller bites, chew, chew, chew. If it's a certain problem food that you can't get down, don't eat it.
