Dee66 0 Posted January 27, 2008 HI! I was so glad to see you are from NJ....me too! I live at the Jersey Shore. I am going to a Doctor in Freehold and have only just begun my journey. Any advice, suggestions, or just to chat would be great! You can also message me privately if you want! Welcome aboard!
ShhhhDontTell 0 Posted January 27, 2008 I went into Philly to have it done. I love my Doc. He does not make you wait for fills, he listens & the staff bends over backwards for you. I have lost 53 pounds. I was banded on 10/5/07. I am soooooooooooo happy with this band. It is a great tool!
bbjerseygirl 0 Posted January 28, 2008 Welcome Moon and good luck on your journey. I am in the Camden County area, outside Philadelphia. Welcome to the site and check out the chat room, will get a lot of good info in there. I was new at all of this too several months back, but the friends I made here were great and informative. Good luck Brenda
frazzledmomof2 0 Posted June 25, 2008 Was wondering what Doctor in Freehold you have seen?
Dee66 0 Posted June 26, 2008 ESA. Dr. Morris Washington.....I am seeing his associate Dr.Sadek. I met with him yesterday and he was REALLY nice and very informative. The only thing that sort of bugged me was he seemed a little more in favor of the GB instead of the LB! Don't know why because I was too busy taking it in to ask so I have a call into him for a phone consult. I am very pleased just curious as to his opinion. frazzledmomof2 0 Posted June 26, 2008 When I first went in for a consult I met with the co-ordinator Jessica, I did not meet a surgeon. I just found out a week ago who will be my surgeon I can't pronounce her name but I will be meeting her two weeks b4 surgery. I have heard very good things about there practice so feel pretty confident about the process. How far have you come?
Dee66 0 Posted June 26, 2008 I am very happy as well. My surgery date is 7/16! I am so excited cause it took me a while until the insurance approved me. The office is a little crazy these days since they are going to a chart less system but I think it will be all good. How has it been for you?
frazzledmomof2 0 Posted June 26, 2008 I went for my first appt. back in Nov. 2008 but was kind of bombarded with all the work that needed to be done prior to even submitting anything to my insurance. I decided to maybe try dieting once more and see what happens. By April of this year I realized that dieting alone for me is not enough and decided to go ahead with the meetings, psych evaluation etc. The hard part was waiting for paperwork to get back to there office and await a response. Now worry has set in and I'm nervous and excited all at the same time.
Dee66 0 Posted June 27, 2008 I did the EXACT same thing last year! I thought that I could do it on my own and why after over 35 years I ever thought that was beyond me! I found out on May 29th that my insurance approved me and I was scheduled for July 16th! I couldn't believe it was so fast but now I am starting the liquid...blah! I hope I can find something tasteful because after only 5 days, the medifast is starting to make me sick! Have you finished your classes yet?
frazzledmomof2 0 Posted June 27, 2008 Yeah..I finished my classes a while ago and my psych evaluation. The doctors office wouldn't send anything to insurance without that done as well as a 5 yr weight history. I really thought I wouldn't get approved because I thought that it's the Insurance Companies job to find a way not to approve many people. But to my excitement I was approved earlier this week and am schedule for Aug. 20th. I could have had the surgery 3rd week in July but were going away and that would have been hard to do the liquid diet. So I guess this trip will be my last supper b4 liquid diet and baby food. Yummy!
