i had my stitches taken out of my arms today. the doctor i work with took them out. he commented that dr. huacuz did a really good job. i am totally happy with how they look. still have a little swelling. but no infections and very little lines. so far so good. i bought some special scar cream to help the healing. i hope it works. feels so good to have the stitches out. they were driving me crazy.

im so pleased with my surgery that doctor huacuz did on my arms. they are all healed and look super. completely natural. i was nervous about them looking too tight or lumpy. no.........they are smooth and the scar is not too bad. it is a long scar and is going to always be there. but it is worth it to wear sleeveless shirts and dresses without the ugly bat wings......... best thing i ever did. dr. huacuz is a very talented surgeon. im thiking about getting my thighs done. has anyone ever had just there thighs done without a body lift??? if so how does it look. i dont want big scars on my legs........

do some research on thigh lifts. I was told by one PS that the incision would be straight down the inner part of my thigh to the knee. I went with surgeon #2 because he is tucking it up instead of over. The only incision I will have will be at the upper part of my thighs across. Good luck.

I would not let him touch any part of my body. Do some research on his history and reputation.

Snowbird, why do you say that? I assume you're talking about Dr. Huacruz? Did you have a bad experience with him? I've been googling him, but haven't found anything negative associated with him...:)

I do not need anything done and am on maintenance. Dr. Huacuz really knows his stuff. But, if I did...I wouldn't hesitate to see him for whatever I need.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
