renewed

great job on 2lbs!!

at the party - eat. when I dont eat and get too hungry i usually eat the wrong thing too fast the maybe PB. just like bloo said - high Protein.

bloo

your stats look good, ANY loss is great, right?

after my carb overload yesterday, I lucked out and was down a bit. just keep thinking what would have happened if I stayed on program???

not sure what today holds. I worked my ass off at the gym so I need carbs. we'll see.

I'm down 5.4 for the week so far.

keep going! we can SO do this!

Everyone is doing such a good job. Congrats on the weight loss everyone!!!

My stomach is feeling very uneasy today. I've had 2 low carb slim fasts today, and I just don't feel like eating today. Maybe by dinner I'll feel better. The good news is I'm down 2 more pounds today!

Mind if I ask, Why your doing Atkins 3 months after being banded? My surgeon suggests we do this two weeks prior to our banding so that we shrink our liver before surgery. I'm so thankful I lost enough weight before this that I didn't have to do Atkins. It seems too intense for me.

Good Luck with this and please keep posting we need the insight of others to blaze our own successful trails!

SZ

i do Atkins cause it works very well for me. **shrug** you need to find what works for you and just do it.

Same here ... counting calories doesn't work for me, but the low carb "diet" always has so it's what I do. :)

To me Atkins and lapband work well together. With the band it is important that you eat Protein first, then good veggies, then carbs. Once we complete the induction phase, that's pretty much what Atkins is. I also lose well on Atkins. Like other have said, It works well for me. everyone has to find what works.

Ok, I did really well at the party. I ate ham and cheese. Then I blew it. She made my very favorite lemon pie. I ATE 2 PIECES. It slid right down. OMG!! Oh, well, that's ok as long as I go right back to what I know to do. A planned deviation from "the plan" is not a mistake. It's part of my plan. I think that is how I will maintain my sanity through this. I have the freedom to choose. Today I chose to enjoy lemon pie. Tommorow I will choose Atkins shakes. Sounds crazy, but that is empowering to me. It makes this whole thing easier. It's all about choices.

Gotta run to the store to get milk for my little boy. I'll post my food later.

Ok, today I ate

1 piece of ham

3 slices of american cheese

2 pieces lemon pie

the topping of 1 piece of pepperoni pizza

I didn't figure calories, etc. Way too many I am sure. I don't know what all was in the pie, so I skipped that part for today..

tommorow is a new day. In the past I have been so all or nothing. I would have a "bad day" and so I would just quit. I am having to learn that it is not necesary to be perfect, just consistant. I am so glad that tommorow is a new day!!

It's not a big deal unless it repeats day after day, and we won't be doing that!! It's all good.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
