Went shopping in my closet!

Recommended Posts

I just went shopping in my own closet! A year or two ago, when I had been on a diet and lost a few pounds, I'd bought several pairs of pants and a bunch of shirts. Of course, once I did that, I gained all that I had lost back, plus some. I was trying on some other pants that I'd gotten several months back (like many of you, I buy several pairs in different sizes whenever I find a style that actually looks decent), when I remembered the stack of stuff that was in my closet, with the tags still attached. The pair I was trying on was actually too big (and I hadn't even worn them!), so I figured I'd try the others, too. They FIT! :) Hell, a couple of pairs are a tad on the BIG side! :) I've got to find time to go through my closet now, and weed out all the stuff that is either too big or hideously ugly. The only bad thing is that I was looking forward to going shopping for real.

Oh yes, a few bandsters I knew IRL and I would meet up for what we called "closet shopping" at each other's houses. :)

I had one week off prior to my surgery. I went through my closet from top to bottom. Anything too big either went to ebay or charity, anything I couldn't see myself wearing when I lose weight definitely went to charity and anything that is too small was packed into one of those vacuum bags for a party when I have lost more weight!

Needless to say, I didn't have much left that actually fits now :) and I promised myself that I wouldn't buy any more clothes until I get to about 95kgs.

Congrats !!! Isn't it a great feeling?

If you can find a good tailor maybe you could get to use some of the ones that are a bit big even.

Congratulations on your closet shopping.

Last night I dumped out all of my drawers. Now I have these beautiful piles of 42DD bras and just my size, size 40 panties all ready to be boxed up. I've been taking the clothes that are two sizes to big to a church that does clothing give always but I suppose the under clothes will just have to go into the trash.

I'm looking forward to the day that I go shopping in my 18 year olds closet.

Yeah, that's one thing I need to do, get rid of my big undies. You never know, Goodwill or the Salvation Army might take the bras.

Congrats! It really is the best feeling to get into clothes you had outgrown previously!

I've lost 50lbs since April and my mom has been taking up my jeans and pants in the waist so that I can still wear some of them while I transition.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
