I had another fill on Wednesday and met with my nutritionist, too, for my 6 month post-op check-in. Guess what?! I've lost inches! She weighed and measured me and showed me the difference in my measurements from a week before I had surgery and my measurements now. Eee! I'm still at the point where I can barely see the weight-loss in the mirror, so actually seeing how many inches I'd lost was such a motivator! I don't actually remember the exact inches lost (stupid me, forgot to write them down), but it was something like 9 inches off my chest, 5 off my waist, and 6 off my hips. That, combined with the fact that I'm about to go down another size in clothes, REALLY helps.

Congrats Laurend. I wish I'd taken my measurements before the surgery. I had a similar NSV today. My boyfriend had bought me these flannel house pants type things the day of my surgery so I'd have something comfortable to wear post surgery. Well of course I couldn't get them on which was no surprise. I decided to try them on tonight and I'm wearing them! They are even a little loose. So even though I haven't lost that much weight something is changing! This is fun!

Oh! I forgot to add that my brother's MIL told me that I looked like I was about a size 12! :( She was so shocked when I told her that I was barely down into a 16W. I loved it, but it makes me hate this damn belly so much more, you know? I'd have a really great hour-glass shape if I didn't have this belly poking out. I'm not that wide from side-to-side, but my front-to-back depth is so much that I have to wear larger clothes. If I get clothes that fit my waist, they're baggy in the ass.

WTG, Lauren! That's awesome. Seeing inch loss really does feel good. I feel you on the front-to-back comment you made. If something fits my waist, it doesn't fit my ass. LOL And if I find something to fit my ass, it generally leaves a gap around my waist. Oh, the joys of being curvy. Your tummy will catch up!

Y'all, I'm seriously about to squeal with glee! Back when I was a size 20W, I found some pants that fit wonderfully, so I bought them in all the smaller sizes that the store had. I'm basically in a 16W now, so I just went and tried on the 16Ws I got in that style, and they're almost TOO BIG! Plus, the style isn't right any more! They're only a little big in the waist (enough that I know that they are too big), but they're baggy as hell in the hips! They sort of make me look like I'm wearing those funky horse-riding pants.

Congratulations! I do the same thing. If I find something that I really like, and it's at a good price, I'll buy smaller size(s). Jeans have been tricky for me because of the stomach/butt thang.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
