Perth Bandsters Get Together?

Recommended Posts

Would any of the Perth bandsters be interested in getting together for a dinner one night or lunch one day? I am only home in Perth every second week (work on the mines, one week on/one week off), but would love to catch up with some Perth bandsters when I am home.

Ideas for get togethers:

* Find a nice restaurant and all order an entree (and no-one has to feel odd because of that!)

* Have a Monthly Lunch or Dinner Party at someone's house, serving bandster style food and portions (everyone takes turns to host).

* Have a picnic in Kings Park, with a BYO picnic lunch

Looks like it's just thee and me, acl, but I'll hold out hopes for more to join us. I'll be home from site on Friday night and will try to organise something for next week and post details.

Hey Min,

Good luck tomorrow. I am a week post op tomorrow, and I hardly feel like I have had an op (apart from lack of appetite). The first few days were a bit hard, but after that, everything seemed to pick up...I am sure you will do fine.

Fortunately after the 2 weeks of liquids only you will be really impressed at your weight loss start... But as everyone says, dont expect it to last.

Its someone saying for all the pain and crap we have put you through we'll make ur first week of weight loss a good one so encouragement :tt1:

Good Luck! If you need advice about what to eat we're all here!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
