Hi all. I was banded in Oct 2002 by Dr Spivak in Houston. I have had a breast reduction, Lipo, panniculectomy/tummy tuck and implants. Unfortunately, I had some issues with a herniated disc and was placed on a course of steroids and the last time seemed to balloon me up about 20 lbs (seems like it all went in the area between my breasts and lower stomach). I am very happy with the results of my plastics ... except it seems that my skin has lost ALL elasticity and my breasts seem to need work again.

Anyway, I love my plastic surgeon ... but he has indicated that the inner thigh lift procedure (they put the incision in the leg crease) is not worth the possible gain. He has indicated that the problem is the skin starts to pull downwards since there is no real way to "pin" or "tack" the skin up. He says the scar starts to drift down in many cases.

Has anyone had good luck with the inner thigh lift?

Thanks,

Gini

I haven't had it yet, but I'm scheduled for 2/15. I've heard that before, about the scar drifting downward. But, I'd rather have a scar on the upper inner thigh than that crepey skin!

A lady who had RNY a few years back just had that procedure done.

The scars are horizontal and in the inner thigh so as not to be visible when wearing a swimsuit.

She's still in compression garments so she'll know soon if it was successful.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
