johnsonny2fl 0 Posted January 18, 2008 I am very new to this. I attended the seminar. Now they ran my insurance, cigna does pay for bariatric surgery. I have an appt. on Jan. 29th. Now my BMI is 36-37 I been overweight all my life. But I have no other health problems. What are the chances of me being denied? Did anyone out there have cigna or a problem like me? COSkinnyGirl 0 Posted February 17, 2008 I have Cigna as well and I also have a relatively low BMI(37). You likely already know this by now, but they will require that you go on a 6 month physican monitored diet. However, if, in that 6 months, you lose enought weight to drop below 35 BMI, you will likely be denied. It will also depend on your other risk factors, but being that mine were momentarily pretty low, that is what was likely to happen. So I skipped the hoops and I think I am just going to do self-pay...
