Hi Patty:

COngratulations to you!! On your huge success!! I watched the clip it is an amazing testimonial to what this surgery can bring back to us who have fought with obesity demon.

I am sorry for the loss of your friend. I too lost a friend the week of my surgery who had the GB from C-Diff. I am so glad I chose the band it has changed my life already and I still have 114 pounds to go to reach my Goal!

But I know I can do this, I know that the energy that I have today I did not have 9 weeks ago and that will only continue to improve.

You look amazing and you sound like you look!! It is not an easy way out in no way! I was a part of a post here last week where someone was angry that I had posted that I only eat 3 ounce meals and no snacking and that I log everything I eat and even my exercise. She made the comment she did not get the band to have to watch everything she ate like being on a diet.

I am glad you brought out in your segment that this is still a process that requires you to monitor your food intake as well as what kinds of things you are placing into your pouch!!

WOO HOO to the BANDERS who have met their GOAL!! And to those on the WAY!!

Thank you! I think we do have a dream that this the magic bullet...guess what... no such thing! I am waiting to get banded, I have to remember this is ONLY a tool. We do have to diet & exercise. I am hoping it will give me the motivation to work hard to make this work.

Thanks everybody.

I was really happy with the way the video was put together....There was so much more that didnt make it on, they interviewed me for an hour and the stop was less than 2 minutes long.

Thanks for all of your comments.

Road King, I had a sportster about 20 years ago....Pete just got the bike in the video on Dec 22, we have already put 1000 miles on it which is pretty good considering we are in Boston and have had alot of snow.....He has a 95 lowrider which I am hoping to take over this spring!!

I rode a lowrider before I got my Road King. Was a nice bike. With being in Texas we do get to ride most of the year. Harley's are fun.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
