Anna Banana 555 0 Posted January 18, 2008 I always thought that weight loss was the simple equation of less calories taken in, more body fat burned but that's way too simple for my complex and defiant body. My food intake is so much less than what it used to be but my weight loss has been so frustratingly slow. It's not enough that I'm eating about one quarter of what I used to eat, noooooooooo.... they want sweat and blood too! I thought I could get away with working out a couple of times a week but nothing is happening so I now have to step it up a notch if I want to results. So frustrating! Why can't it be as simple as we eat less and lose weight?
peggy1011 0 Posted January 18, 2008 I hear ya Anna! I'm having a tough time with slow weight loss as well. I would've thought with the small amount of food I eat, that weight would be just dropping off, but it is not the case. So...I need to step it up, and pay even closer attention to my food choices. Here's to success for all of us!!! Peggy
rharriet62 0 Posted January 18, 2008 I am the QUEEN of slow weight loss. I work out doing cardio an hour a day, and I mean HARD cardio! Yeah, I'm in great shape but even with that added to my life, I can't eat many calories! I'm the cockroach of all metabolisms!!! HAHA. Up your exercise! I also got a body bugg and I have to say it has really given me insight into how much it takes me to burn a few hundred calories!
Longhorn 1 Posted January 19, 2008 I had this discussion with the physical trainer in my surgeon's office today. According to the metabolism test they did before my surgery, I have a "fast metabolism." I'm eating way less and I'm exercising but weight loss is slow. My trainer believes I need to build up muscle. She's coming to my house tomorrow to check out my home gym and other equipment and help me with a plan. It sounds like the strength training is more important for me right now than the aerobics! By the way, I teach math and I guarantee there is no simple formula for weight loss!
