Uhhh.. Youre kidding, right?

Starbucks coffee, Mashed Potatoes, Cheesecake and Ice Cream..

Take a look at the list of foods you are eating, and ask yourself if they are 1. food that would be beneficial to a weight loss plan, and 2., food that your doctor approved to eat.

I'm not trying to be rude, or snarky, but maybe you should consider some options that are less carb rich, more Protein rich and have fewer calories, combine that with some exercise and I bet you'll see the scales change really quickly!

Good Luck :(

Sorry, I agree with Angelica

If you can force those things down - you can also get fat free yogurt, low calorie pudding, low cal Soup and crystal light down.

Anyone who ate mashed potatoes, chesscake, and Icecream would either gain or definitely not lose weight.

If you are eating those foods because you feel like you cannot keep down chicken, ground meat, etc. then maybe your band is too tight. when was your last fill/adjustment?

Have you talked to your Dr. about this?

But I don't think you should be surprised that you have not lost any weight recently. all high fat foods????

Thank you for the reality check. I think I have been playing the poor pitifuls in that I can't eat or "pass" good quality food. The icecream goes down so easily...no pain...but not part of a good diet.

Not at all! I am serious however, once I put the foods that I have been eating in writing and in front of my face...what an idiot. The only thing is that these were the foods that did not hurt going down. chicken, Beef, salads, etc. hurt so bad. Any advice???

So you are not having a go at us?

Absolutely, what an awful diet, and not nutritious for you at all.

If you are following the band rules and chewing, chewing, chewing and taking tiny bites and good food still won't go down, then I suggest you see your doc for a slight unfill.

You have to take care of you.

In the meantime, go back to the mushies phase.

Cottage cheese, Lowfat yogurt, puree some canned chicken breast and make a chicken salad. How about refried (fat free) Beans with a little salsa and greek strained yogurt (like Fage) on them, that's very high in Protein and good for you.

Lump crab meat is moist and very flaky.

Avocados, another good thing.

Did this inability to eat good foods start within 2 weeks of a fill? Maybe you need a little taken out?

You should be eating Protein first, veggies second and small amounts of carbs, if you have room.

Protein: start on soft Protein, tuna, soft chicken like rotiserrie style, ground turkey made into a burger or meatloaf. Any soft protein that you like. Then add some soft cooked veggies. And see how those things work.

Mentioned above in a post, is yogurt, look for sugar free, non fat, sugar free puddings etc. How about some oatmeal at b'fast or a scrambled egg?

I agree with everyone else - I suggest you go back to your Dr and ask their opinion, maybe an unfill, or see a dietician.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
