Which Dr. ????? San Antonio

Recommended Posts

I'm so confused as where I should go. I have no idea which Dr.s are in my network or not. I tried to look on BC/BS FEP web site and can't find none. I have a seminar on Sat at NE Baptist but I haven't seen anyone here use them and it worries me. Someone help please, lol.

So far I have heard of True Results, NIX, and I have a seminar this Sat. at NE Baptist with Dr. Patel and Dr. Cavazos. I hope someone can lead me with their experience in the right direction.

TIA

I have BCBS of IL and will be using Dr. Carcamo at the Nix. Several of my friends have used Dr. Wright with no complaints. Hope this helps.

I had the surgery on 12/31/07 by Dr. Wright at the NIX Hospital. The staff in the office is very good. They have all of the insurance information at hand and can answer all of your questions. Try one of the seminars at the NIX with the South Texas Surgeons. Both of them are very good and I believe they really care.

i used dr. patel at innova hospital

i was banded 12-26-07

his staff leaves a lot to be desired but my results are going well.

3 weeks out and 17 lbs down, this is without any fills too!

and i used bcbs whom i am told is the easiest insurance to get approval from

mine took less than a day is what the staff said.

I just sent you an email . The best thing to do to see which doc is in your network is to call your insurance and see which names they give you .

You will probably have to call them , Lap Band docs most likely will not be on their websites under Baratric surgeons , So calling is probably your best bet ?

Or if you calling docs in the area and asking them if they take your insurance.

I use Dr. Duperior here in SA. He is with New Dimensions. They do most of their surgeries at a brand new hosp called Foundation Bariatric Hospital on Heubner. Their staff is specially trained to work with bariatric patients. Look up ND website and attend a seminar. They will check on your insurance for you. Good luck

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
