Hot Tea

Recommended Posts

My addiction to coffee is starting to catch up with me, so Ive decided to venture on to 'other' things... hot tea's.

Could you please help me figure out which ones are better and what each one is used for; like... green tea, black tea, herbal tea - chamomile (sp? Michelle recommends this one for resting).

Help me, please? :D

Green tea is a great antioxidant and can help with weight loss -it is put in alot of weight loss formulaions (potentially speeds up metabolic rate) However, I think it tastes really yucky. Chammomile tea has a natural agent that helps you relax and may help induce sleep I have also heard it is good for menstral cramps. My favorite tea is spiced chai (mixed with milk) it has a lot of sugar in it Earl Gray is really good and I like plain old Liptons with milk and sugar. If you don't know which one you like Bigeolow makes a variety pack of teas that you can by and see which one you favor most.

Ah, teas! Add just a little honey and lemon- wonderful. I think they're great for anything...sleeping, menstrual cramps, stuffy nose, headache, just relaxing. If you're drinking a lot of tea, you'll want to be sure and get decaffeinated. I love Celestial Seasonings Brand. Their "Sleepy Time" tea has camomille in it and works great.

I LOVE chinese green tea - it's really good for you and counts towards your Water intake, which I find great - it's hard to chug pints of cold water when the weather is cold!! I make my green tea (using leaves or buds) in my cafetiere (I think you guys call them a French Press??) so I don't end up swallowing bits of the leaves! My sister goes to China a lot and brings me home the real thing but you can get great green tea at a chinese market too.

I also love the flavoured teas - raspberry, blackcurrant - great at night! And definately WAY better than drinking coffee!

oh! Teas! man I love tea, okay love coffee too.. Yup, we call 'em french presses (LOVE MINE) but I never thought to make tea with it...

Okay, here are my current favorite teas: (all celestial seasonings)

Cafinated: Morning Thunder (a favorite since I was a teenager) a blend of black tea and Mate (milk and spenda)

Nutcracker Sweet (seasonal) Milk and Splenda

Chai has been a fav since I was a teenager too. I brew my own, that way I can control how sweet it is.

caffeine free:

Bengal Spice

All of the Rooibos teas (except the Red Safari Spice. It is very, very yummy, but it has bananas in it. I'm allergic to bananas...)

Love Green teas too.

Rooibos (roy-bus) teas are high in antioxidants too

I'm a total coffee snob--when I found a coffee shop here in ID that has whole Beans and asked if I could get any African coffee in town, well, I thought the clerk was going to propose marriage then and there! I can't stand spenda in my coffee, like I said, I'm a total coffee snob... I find I drink more teas lately though.

NOT knowing what I was getting, I bought the Lipton Green tea. I added a tsp. of turbinado sugar and L O V E D it. Already had 2 cups.

So a cup of hot tea can count towards our Water intake???

oh, I find African coffees to be fuller bodied that those from South or Central America.

Columbia just has a better advertising budget... The American Coffees are more.. mellow, less acidic I believe,

Paula- Call around to your closest Bed,Bath & Beyond store. They sell a beautiful large & small(I'm sure are sold out) wood tea box filled with BENTLEY'S Finest teas. Very inexpensive (especially with your 20% coupon in the mail) They are all Pure Ceylon teas (awesome). Also if you go to Willams and Sonoma they carry a select grouping of fine teas. Enjoy-Enjoy & remember Teas STAIN YOUR TEETH just as bad as coffee. Try to brush(within a few hours) after enjoying to keep your pearls white ;0)

Thanks - there is one about a mile fom my house.

And about the brushing... I brush my teeth about 4 times a day (on a regular day) esp. if I eat something strong. Ill keep this one in mind when I enjoy all these new teas!

Thanks everyone for all these great ideas!

What about ones that 'keep you regular'???

Are there any that do that?

Crystal - about the coffee's - I drink Community coffee. Its a Louisiana brand :D. VERY strong! It definately wakes ya up!!!

Betty - what brand of green tea do you drink?

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
