bulging feeling in my throat

Recommended Posts

I have been having this bulging feeling in my throat as if something is stuck in there. I even wake up in the morning with this feeling. What could this possibly be?

Also my 1st fill was December 19th. Now all of a sudden I am feeling so much restriction, I just experienced my first slime on Monday plus a PB. Why would all of a sudden would I start feeling like this? It seems as if my band has tightened even a month later and I haven't changed my eating habits either.

Does anyone have any ideas why or have any suggestions?

Thanks.

After sliming, pbing or all-out puking your stomach gets irritated and swollen making the band tighter. I experienced this last month. It was not good. Had to get a complete unfill.

I have experienced the bulging feeling in my throat quite often. I usually feel it after a fill or when I am full.

I have heard it is common for you to feel tighter a week or two after a fill. (I don't know about a month, though.) Also, you may be tighter in the morning or during your period.

I would call my doctor just to be safe.

I guess that the band is tight because TOM will be in town next week.

I am suppose to have a fill on the 26th of this month. I'll go in to see the doctor but I might opt out on getting a fill.

Thanks for your help

That's what she said.

OMG! just kidding.... couldn't resist...

Anyway, I think your stoma is definately irritated and you should be nice to your stoma. Feed it what it wants like warm liquids; tea, Water, coffee, bullion... Nothing harsh.

You'll be all good. If not, then you may need an unfill...

I am having the same feeling after my fill in mid November. I had a hiatal hernia they repaired at the same time so I thought maybe that had something to do with it. I have heard when I lose more weight that it will go away or lessen.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
