What are you eating Nymph's?

I agree with Shortgal here......you have to be careful of getting an eating disorder here......they warned us of people who get banded and then will not touch solids....they just drink their calories and eat Soup.

Your body is not made to go without solid food......if you do it for too long it will not accept it once you start back, this is onething that happens with anorexia nervosa patients. So be very careful of your liquids and no solids. And you should be getting 60 grams of Protein minimum in the 1st 3 months after surgery and our surgeons like you to keep it at that forever if you can.

I would say you might need unfilled, sounds like you are too tight!

Okay, so after thinking about things for a while...I couldn't remember the last time I had a BM, It had been at least a week. So I took some exlax and OMG I though I would die...but the next day I could eat...which is really strange..I guess since I wasn't clearing stuff out I couldn't put anything into my body...so now I am doing a lot better. I am still eating a small amount of solids when I do eat though so that is good..but I'm getting in at least 800-1200 calories a day.

So I guess that is what was wrong with me..lol...glad I figured that out!

Imonmyway,

Elimination is one of the basic functions of your body. You should definately focus on getting more Fiber to keep everything moving along. Your body needs to "take out the trash" in order to keep its house in order. Water and excercise both help to move that process along, too. Good luck.

Hi to all

Have put my mind a rest as i thought there was something wrong with me as i have been able to eat normal foods since my op in november, have had three fills now and have 8cc in a 14cc AP band. Also thought my weight loss was slow compared to other forums but seems to be on track with the rest of you banded in november. Great reading what foods you are all eating but some things you mention we cant get here in the UK, like Kelloggs Protein Water. wil have to see if i can order it over the net.

Well done to all

Best wishes

Lisa

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
