belle75067 0 Posted January 16, 2008 So I had a band slippage that was found approximately two weeks ago. So I was put on a liquid diet for 7 days and a mushy diet for 7 days to see if it would fix the problem. I went back to scor today and was checked out and it turns out that the diet fixed the problem. Another good thing was that I didn't gain not one pound. I am only 20 lbs. away from my goal weight. So, they put half of my Fluid back in that they took out before. So now I feel secure again with some of my fill back in. I am looking forward to starting to lose again. So I don't have to have surgery to fix it. Yea!
Betty Lue 1 Posted January 16, 2008 I'm so happy for you that being on the liquid diet fixed your problem. Good Luck!
texasgal2008 0 Posted January 16, 2008 can you tell me what would have happened if the diet would not have fixed it? would you have had to repay the whole amount for surgery?
make33 2 Posted January 16, 2008 I was wondering what your outcome would be--I am SO happy for you!! (And also for the rest of us, there IS hope a diet may correct band slippage). :smile:Thanks and take care of yourself...

socalgal3 4 Posted January 17, 2008 can you tell me what would have happened if the diet would not have fixed it? would you have had to repay the whole amount for surgery? This would depend on your surgeon and your insurance. I had to have my slip surgically repaired. I was self-pay and it cost me about 1/2 of my original surgery fee. Sula 0 Posted January 17, 2008 How did you know you had slippage and how did it happen?
lizzy h 0 Posted January 17, 2008 What relief you must be feeling, this is great. What I don't understand is the liquid diet part. Because I am experiencing constant vomiting I am SURE my band has slipped. Since I can't even drink fluids without throwing up so I can't see how going to liquids or mushies would help, any thoughts? belle75067 0 Posted January 17, 2008 I got a cold back in August right after I got a fill. My son brought it home from football. I had a lot coughing and it caused my alien baby to slip. I started having heartburn at night really bad and couldn't even eat 2 oz of food in one meal. I could not drink even 8 oz of Water a day. I thought the heartburn was normal but it wasn't. Next time I have excessive heartburn I will go in asap to have it checked out. When I initially went it scor assumed it was due to me getting sick. I told them no way I hate getting sick and would never overeat to cause that. I have gotten sick maybe 5 times in 17 months. I am just glad that the issue is fixed. belle75067 0 Posted January 17, 2008 When I went in to scor they took all my saline out of my band which would allow me to go on my liquid diet.< /p>
