What are your short term goals to get there

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if any of you have set some short term goals in the journey we have laid out ahead of us. Wondering if anyone would be interested in maybe starting a tracking of mini goals we set for ourselves over the month or something. Anyone up for it?

I short term goal is to reach the 100 pound lost mark. I'm so close to it I'm drooling.

My short term goal is under 200 by my birthday, end of April. And to get rid of my obesity related heart arythmia which I'll get tested for then as well.

My second short term goal is to be out of the 300 bracket. I am at 329 right now so need to lose 30lb to do that then that will be a huge goal for me then i want to hit 250 i will be happy if thats all i ever lose but will strive for more. My short term goal is under 300. That's 31 pounds away and I would LOVE to be there before my surgery in late February. I know it's possible if I can stick to this liquid diet.< /p>

I'm new here and soooooooooooooo glad to see folks such as myself on this board.

I'm going to be ecstatic to get to 299 lbs. So I guess that's my 1st goal. Well 2nd goal. The first being able to survive the pre-surgery full and clear liquid - two more sleeps and I'm on the surgery table! :)

At my heaviest I suspect I weighed around 365. With a change in eating habits - which I've somewhat maintained and lots of exercise - which I did not maintain - I did manage to lose 76 pounds a few years back.... of course gained most of it back.

Hi Jonathan:

My short term goal is to lose one more pound and that is my goal again and again and again. Yesterday I hit the 100 pound lost point. That 100 pounds came off since 4/23/07. Nine months, not bad. My next big goal is to get under 200. I'm 24 pounds away, so it will probably take me until April or May for that to happen unless I slow down alot. Then, my goal will be to get to a size 12. I'm pretty sure that I'll be happy at a size 12.

You've done a great job - down 122! Best wishes for your continued success.

Sue

I'm 2 years post op and here's how I set up my mini goals. I looked forward to each 50 lbs lost, I celebrated when I got under 300 lbs. Then I celebrated each 50 lbs lost again until I hit -150 lbs. Now I Celebrate every 10 lbs lost but am anxious to get below the 200 lbs mark. Once I'm below the 200 lbs mark, it will be a mini goal of 5 lbs at a time. It gets tougher and tougher to keep the big losses going so I set up realistic goals for a short term range for each stage of my weight loss. In the beginning, the pounds just fell off so 50 lbs was reasonable. I lost 100 lbs in exactly 8 months. Just keep your goals real and be accountable to them and you will not get discouraged.

I started at 382.

My first goal was 350 (-32 lbs).

Then it was 300 (-82 lbs).

Then it was 250 (-132) lbs.

Now my goal is 200, which will be -182 lbs. I'm currently at 235 and have lost about 150. I would like to see 200 on the scale by the end of the year.

I keep a skewed version of "goal." In a way I refuse to set goals because I refuse to be the cause of my own weight-related disappointment any longer. So now they're just markers -- something to set my sights on so that I don't get lost.

My goals are set up in one month increments with and added half of a month every 3 months. For each of those times I set a goal of 10 pounds. So far, so good! I am a bit ahead of the game, thank goodness...

funny that i haven't thought about mini-goals...my dad was a master at them and did his best to teach me, too! lol

my history is strong for weight loss. i've never had a tool to help me keep it off though, so it's not been maintained for more than a few months.

so i've dropped 42 so far. my next mini-goal is -50. then it will be -75. i'd like to be at -100 by june, although that may be more than i can manage. i'm going to stay faithful to my eating plan and exercise...

when the weight has come off in the past, i was not able to get below 250 lbs. less than 200 seems like a dream. i wonder what i will look like...what size i will wear, how i will feel.

thanks for letting me share the journey with you!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
