I have over 200 pounds to lose but this week I made it to 102 pound weight loss. I am about four and one half months out of surgery. The experience has been one of the best of my life!

Mary,

The top 3 things would be:

1) Stick to the different food Phases as close as you can - the first three months are the hardest.

2) I have kept a food Diary from Day 1. This has kept me very honest with myself. I even kept it on Thanksgiving Day. (This never worked for me when I tried Weight Watchers but with the band it has been very successful for me.)

3) Attend your support meetings regularly and develop a good repoire with your doctor/surgeon. Be honest with him or her. Be honest with yourself. Set realistic goals for yourself.

I hope these help. If I can help you in any way in your journey please write me.

Regards,

shelli:smile:

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing and for being an inspiration. I am kinda on the fence, leaning more towards doing it esp. after reading your sucess and knowing that it is possible!! I have 200 plus to loose, so the road seems really long.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
