Any successful banded Virgo's out there?

Recommended Posts

I know this sounds really dumb, and I don't know how much I believe it or not, but it is said that Virgo's have really bad immune systems and suffer with more ailments than other signs.. I don't know if I believe all that, but I look at all the ailments and crap I have and how hard it is for me to even get over a cold. My mother-in-law and best friend, both Virgo's, are also in the same boat. Have lots of ailments and don't heal easily, etc... so, I'm just curious if there are any Virgo's out there that did well with the band.. have lost good weight and healed up nicely with their scars. I'm not really the supersticious type, but it would be nice just to see... If you are a virgo and didn't do well on it, please post too..

Thanks!

I'm a Virgo and I healed really quickly (other than the port being sore) and have had decent weight loss so far. I do not have many ailments...I did this to prevent all the things that my parents have. Hopefully I will. Good luck!

Hi,

I'm a Virgo and have been banded 3 years! I have never heard those traits of a Virgo, so I thought it was quite interesting. I do not have any of those problems, so maybe it's back to the idea that "some" people have those issues. I have been doing well. AND, what will help a Virgo be successful is our attention to detail, doing things by the book, and not compromising! HAHA. You go for it, Virgo friend! You'll do great!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
