2bthinagn 3 Posted January 17, 2008 I had a job where I was expected to multi task. For some reason now I cant do it at all or it just blows my mind. I get extremely flustered and stressed out if it is mental multi tasking.
jljeje 0 Posted January 17, 2008 I'm glad to see I'm not the only one having problems multi-tasking, yet this is bothering me quite a bit - and it must be for you too. I'm not working right now, but a few months ago while I was working, I noticed it was difficult for me to do as many things as I used to. Is my brain aging that much? not using it, so losing it? I'm of the use it or lose it camp. When I go on vacation, I come back nearly brain-dead. It gets harder every year but don't give in. I try Sudoku and Word Search puzzles when I'm on vacation to keep my mind going.
green 6 Posted January 18, 2008 I am definitely not as smart as I used to be. I don't remember new words the way I used to. This really freaks me out.
beckymein1021 0 Posted January 18, 2008 I'm losing words too. My short term memory is shot. I used to joke that I couldn't remember what I had for lunch yesterday and now that's becoming a reality. It's pretty frightening, esp. here at work. People ask me questions about something that happened 2 weeks ago to find out the status and I give them a blank stare and they think I'm getting stupider and stupider. I hate this. :rose: I'm wondering if part of my memory loss is the medications I'm taking. I know that anti-depressants can affect your memory. I'm on quite a few right now. Would love to taper off, esp. if it would help the memory issue... I feel like I'm getting wiser with age, but with a faultier memory. Oh to be 20 and know what I know (or think I remember) today!!! -Becky
IndioGirl55 32 Posted January 18, 2008 I am definitely not as smart as I used to be. I don't remember new words the way I used to. This really freaks me out. I can't pronounce words sometimes - the other day at the hair dressers I could not say developmental... I just could not get the word out... it's scary sometimes.. I don't multi - task as well as i use to - use to be able to watch tv have a conversation with you and ease drop on the conversation going on behind me.. Not anymore... It's one thing at a time.
