Hi everyone, I have not been to this forum before and just saw it tonight. I am getting my lap-band removed on March 4th because of erosion. At the same time the plastic surgeon I found Dr. Quiroz will perform a mini face lift. I've always had a double chin, even after losing weight it has not went away. I hate seeing myself in picture! Has anyone heard of this doctor or know anything of him. Thanks for any replies.

Tick tock, tick tock... I'm sitting here waiting for responses cause I'm excited about your mini lift. I agree with you - if they remove my band, they better remove some fat, too. Looking forward to meeting you soon. I want to say goodbye to your chin before it's gone.

Sorry, I don't know about Dr. Quiroz. But I did have a consultation with a doctor here because I don't like my hanging neck wattle. He suggested a neck lift. I wonder if it is the same thing as your mini face lift? Good luck!

Nancy

Delarla, trust me it isn't anything cute you'll say goodbye to!

Yes he is doing a neck lift, I just call it in my own terms a mini face lift.

Gobble gobble. Hey, I can joke since I have a waddle too! I would LOVE to have it lifted, sliced, removed, dissolved - just get rid of it.

I had a consult with Dr Quiroz last month for a lower body lift and arm reduction. He has a very good reputation, and is highly recommended by my band surgeon. I don't have the money right now to get my LBL, but I think I will probably go to Dr Quiroz when I decide to do it.

Yeh I think that he will be a great choice and fit for me. I also will be staying at the aftercare he recommended for 4 nights. I will start a post once it gets closer I am still 3 months out. Let me know if you have any questions, that I may help you with.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
